Ultimate Frisbee was originated by Joel Silver in 1968. Joel was a student at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey and proposed a Frisbee team to the student council. Now it is played around the world, mostly as college and club teams.

Lacrosse originated with the Native Americans, as early as the 12th century, among the Huron and Iroquois Tribes. The tribes used the ball sport to resolve conflicts, heal the sick, strengthen men and prepare for war. Teams consisted of about 100 to 1,000 men on a field that could be miles long.
